Terma – Private Multi-Pitch Rock Climbing Tour
fromEasy/Intermediate rock climbing, a beautiful summit and spectacular views of the Colorado river!
Terma is positioned hundreds of feet above an amazing bend in the Colorado River. A rim route that entails mostly face climbing, this unique multi-pitch rock climb is unlike many of the other famous multi-pitch climbs in the Moab area. Terma presents a great opportunity for new and experienced climbers to learn the ins and outs of multi-pitch climbing while reaching a spectacular summit.
We start the day with a steep hike to the base of the climb. We’ll go over multi-pitch rope systems, belaying, gear cleaning and climbing technique before launching off on our first pitch. Three pitches and 350 feet of climbing later, we arrive at the top. We’ll take in the views of the vast open desert and nearby mountain ranges. From here, we descend via 3 rappels back down to the base of the climb.
This climb is great for all climbing abilities and those who are in good/great shape. An excellent way to spend a day of guided rock climbing in the Moab area!

Terma is a fantastic desert climbing experience suitable for most climbers. This route presents plenty of opportunity to learn the ins and outs of multi-pitch climbing while reaching a beautiful summit. Primarily face climbing – you’ll focus on footwork, body positioning, and the friction of your shoes to work your way up the climb with plenty of instruction and encouragement from your guide.
We start the day with a steep hike uphill to the base of the climb. Be prepared to hike 700ft of elevation on rocky terrain. We’ll go over multi-pitch rope systems, belaying, gear cleaning and climbing technique before launching off on our first pitch. Three pitches and 350 feet of climbing later, we arrive at the top! We’ll take in the views of the vast open desert and nearby mountain ranges. Then, we descend the route we climbed by rappelling down.

Absolutely! Terma is a great introduction to rock climbing for adventurous beginners. The climbing is not particularly difficult, but the multi-pitch nature of this climb, and the hike to the base of the climb make it more adventurous than our half day rock climbing tours.
During our time out together, we’ll go over climbing, belaying and rappelling techniques. You’ll always be attached to at least one rope – this is called “on belay” while climbing. While you’re rappelling, you’re attached to two ropes – one that you’re managing on your way down, and another that your guide is managing just in case you let go or lose control.
A “pitch” is a set length of climbing that ends at a set of anchors where your guide will stop and belay each person in the group up to them. From there, the guide continues up the next “pitch” to another set of anchors and belays each person up the them again. We repeat for another pitch until you’re on top of the rim!
