Canyoneering is certainly the best way to experience the slots of the desert southwest, and adding on a scenic flight with Redtail Aviation is the cherry on top! Many of the remote slot canyons that we love to explore can be reached by airplane, offering a unique way to approach the area and allowing an unparalleled view and better understanding of the complex terrain that you will soon be exploring.

Since all of our trips are private, we can create a scenic flight and canyoneering adventure that is sure to meet the needs and desires of your group. Once we decide which canyon we’ll be exploring, we’ll be sure to let your pilot know so that he or she can fly you right over this canyon. Your pilot will land at a remote dirt airstrip, courtesy of the uranium mining boom of the 50’s and 60’s, where your guide will pick you up and you will begin the next leg of your journey.

In no time, you’ll be headed into the canyon of your choice to explore the slots that you just saw from the air. You’ll be rappelling, sliding on your butt, helping your partners, and learning many new techniques that will allow us to safely navigate this ever-narrowing terrain. These canyons are tons of fun and you’ll find yourself doing things you never imagined were possible! Once the canyon allows the space, we’ll enjoy a relaxing and well deserved lunch and eventually find our way back to the vehicle.

If you’ve chosen to spend two or three days with us (wise choice!), we’ll head to camp where a well earned meal is prepared by your multi-talented guide. We provide everything you will need to enjoy a relaxing and comfortable evening at camp.
